I have been a dealer of Su-kam for the last five years and it has changed my life considerably for the better. The superior quality of Su-kam’s product was the major reason as to why I chose to take up a Su-kam dealership. Good quality products, great advertising and variety in the product range are the three things that make Su-kam so popular and widely used. I took up a Su-kam dealership five years ago and since then I have seen the company and its products go from strength to strength. They have constantly come out with great quality products suited for different target audiences. When I became a dealer Su-kam five years ago, my primary reasons were their good market value and the fact that they had more sales than the competition. The reputation of a company and its brand name both are very crucial for success. This is clearly evidenced in the case of Su-kam. I have been a dealer of Su-kam since 2003 and one of my major reasons for taking up this dealership was the good repute and market value enjoyed by Su-kam even back then. Even people who were not Su-kam users had heard about the company and its good quality products. This major factor contributed in my decision to become a Su-kam dealer.

Since the time I became a dealer, my faith and belief in Su-kam has multiplied manifold. I have realized that Su-kam offers what it promises to its customers i.e. great quality products. Moreover, it is a company that constantly improves through innovation and relentless efforts. This is again proved by the company wide range and growing portfolio of new-age products as well as the excellent market value of Su-kam. I am a dealer who only sells Su-kam’s products and it is because of the measure of trust and conviction that I have in Su-kam.

I learned the truth in these words through my stint at Su-kam. I have been working at Su-kam since the last 6 ½ years and the place has enabled me to evolve both as a professional and an individual. Su-kam has helped me to grow and develop my skills. I started off at this organization as a service engineer, later moved onto sales and now handle the designation of Manager – Global Business, all because of the opportunities that came my way during my 6 ½ years long association with Su-kam.

Su-kam has a great work culture that empowers its employees, hones their skills and helps them to learn many more. There is no stringent hierarchy that would prevent employees from approaching their seniors with any problem that they might have. Thus, these factors make Su-kam a great place to work.

Su-kam endeavors for the empowerment for its extended family members and therefore conducts various activities that would help Su-kamians to grow. Personality development workshops, seminars are conducted on a regular basis at Su-kam for the betterment and improvement of its employees. Moreover, the place also encourages its employees to become better and conscientious citizens of the society by organizing blood donation camps and other such activities.

The trust that Su-kam places on its employees is also a strong motivation to perform better. I can give my own example to prove this fact. Recently I went to Africa on an official trip. Su-kam trusted me to take the decisions needed to improve sales and business over there without doubting my skills and the ability to take the right decisions.

Su-kam also cares deeply about its employees. It offers monetary benefits and loans to its employees who are in need. It often goes out of its way to ensure the welfare of its extended family members. There are innumerous incidents to prove this fact. My colleague has gone to Sudan for marketing purpose but has fallen ill with a chicken pox. Su-kam is calling him back and making the necessary arrangements. In another instance; a colleague went to Cameroon where all his personal belongings like passport, camera etc was stolen. The company compensated for the entire loss.

I have seen the company growing from strength to strength with the help of its solid and down-to-earth values like

I have learnt a lot from Su-kam. Some of the best lessons I have learnt are that

Su-Darpan: Mirroring Su-kam’s progress

Today, Su-kam is a household name. Its inverters, UPS and other power back up systems operate in countless offices and households. A company growing by leaps and bounds with every passing day; Su-kam owes its success and progress to its employees, dealers and customers.

Su-kam appreciates this fact and does its best to ensure that its extended family remains updated about its activities, achievements, goals and targets. Su-Darpan, the monthly newsletter (for want of a better word) from Su-kam is one of the tools that help this organization to keep its family connected.

“Leadership is the special quality that enables people to stand up and pull the rest of us over the horizon.”

This statement could have been made for our leader Mr Kunwer Sachdev.

When I had joined the company nearly six and half years ago, we were a small company worth Rs 23 crores and just one office, i.e. in Delhi.  I have personally seen the company grow as we are now touching Rs 500 crores, with 23 offices in India and 3 outside India.  We have grown from 150 employees to 1600 + employees.  The first export consignment was shipped in 2004 while now we export to more than 71 countries. All this has been possible because of our visionary and innovative leader.

He is not only an ingenious and astute businessperson, but a great teacher and leader as well. He bears with our mistakes with equanimity and patience. He teaches by example how to overcome problems and hurdles and to rise over our limitations and weaknesses.  He is a great motivator. Seeing him as a boss taught me that a friendly approach could work wonders that you cannot think to achieve with a tough attitude.

I have had the opportunity to work very closely with the MD of company and I have seen him mingle with everyone with equal comfort. It is a very rare trait. Moreover, he is someone who genuinely cares for his employees and colleagues. This was clearly evidenced when a few days back, two young employees of the company happened to die in a road accident in Guwahati.

The MD was traveling on business and texted me from the airport to arrange for a prayer meeting and communicate this sad news to other members of Su-Kam family.  He was very upset over this incident and I could understand that he really relate and empathize with the pain and trauma that their parents went through.

Su-kam has taught me that it pays to be different. The company has motivated and given me courage to put forward my ideas without the fear that they will be rejected. Thus, a great leader and a great organization like Su-kam have been instrumental in my growth as a professional and an individual.

Su-kam: A Customer Friendly Organisation

Constant and frequent power cuts have made it mandatory for businessmen like me to have inverters and other power back up systems to ensure that our work and businesses don’t suffer. I too got a 5-kva high capacity inverter from Su-kam to see that there are no disruptions to my work and business.

However, once there was a power cut at around 8:00 pm and the inverter wasn’t working properly. There was a jerking movement. Therefore, I called up the customer service department and informed about the problem. Night had already fallen so I was under the assumption that the company would send someone the next day. However, to my wonder the engineer from the company turned up in a very short time and brought a spare service battery along. The engineer then got rid of the jerking that was actually due to some fault in the battery.

Thanks to Su-kam’s prompt service, I could keep the petrol pump running that night despite the power cut. If the company had not provided prompt assistance then the petrol pump would have had to be shut down due to darkness.

I have always received great service from the company. There products are also top-rate which is why apart from an inverter I also use a Su-kam’s SMF battery. Let me tell you another instance that proves the company’s dedication towards their customers. I bought battery equalizers for my SMF battery but wasn’t too happy with them. Therefore, I called up the company and asked them to replace the battery equalizer. The company got the equalizer replaced with a new one within a few days.

I have always had a great experience in my dealings with Su-kam and have never faced any hassles. Its after sale service, value for money and its world class technology gives the company an edge over its counterparts.

Su-kam saves the Day

Power cuts have become the bane of our existence. They wreak havoc in our day-to-day life As a palliative to this problem, I opted for an inverter however was not too satisfied with its performance. Then I brought another inverter, this time from Su-kam.

I must admit that the Su-kam inverter has solved my problems due to these blasted power cuts. It is a great product and offers great returns for my hard-earned money. Moreover, I am also very pleased with the company’s after sales service. Once it so happened that some strange noise was coming out of my inverter. Therefore, I called up the customer service department at Su-kam and you would not believe, a customer service executive from the company turned up at my doorstep mere two hours later and solved the problem immediately.

Now, I have been using the Su-kam inverter for the last 4-5 years and have never faced any hassles. On the other hand, it has proved invaluable on several occasions. I will narrate one such instance. It was another of those days when electricity went off early in the morning and the power was not restored even after several hours. I was working from home with the help of my inverter and had to attend an urgent con-call from France. I was able to handle it without any problems due to my Su-kam inverter that continued working despite there being no power supply for almost the whole day. Su-kam was the hero that day.

I would certainly recommend Su-kam to my fellow beings if they are thinking of buying an inverter, UPS or battery. Its quality products, great after sale services and customer friendly attitude certainly makes Su-kam a great choice. In fact looking at its quality and performance it is very easy to mistake Su-kam for a Japanese brand, despite being an Indian brand.

Titled “Making Breakthrough Innovations Happen”, this book brings eleven instances where people battled heavy odds and managed to turn their industry around with their ingenuity and innovations.

Su-kam, the company which almost singe-handedly changed the face of the Indian power back-up, is one of the eleven innovators chronicled in this book. It is a truly deserving accolade for Su-kam because it managed to create not only a niche into an existing industry but ended up creating a whole new industry in India by sensing and successfully utilizing a latent need in the power backup sector of the country.
