I happened to read somewhere, “Leadership is the special quality that enables people to stand up and pull the rest of us over the horizon.” This statement could have been made for our leader Mr Kunwer Sachdev.

When I had joined the company nearly six and half years ago, we were a small company worth Rs 23 crores and just one office, i.e. in Delhi.  I have personally seen the company grow as we are now touching Rs 500 crores, with 23 offices in India and 3 outside India.  We have grown from 150 employees to 1600 + employees.  The first export consignment was shipped in 2004 while now we export to more than 71 countries. All this has been possible because of our visionary and innovative leader.

He is not only an ingenious and astute businessperson, but a great teacher and leader as well. He bears with our mistakes with equanimity and patience. He teaches by example how to overcome problems and hurdles and to rise over our limitations and weaknesses.  He is a great motivator. Seeing him as a boss taught me that a friendly approach could work wonders that you cannot think to achieve with a tough attitude.

I have had the opportunity to work very closely with the MD of company and I have seen him mingle with everyone with equal comfort. It is a very rare trait. Moreover, he is someone who genuinely cares for his employees and colleagues. This was clearly evidenced when a few days back, two young employees of the company happened to die in a road accident in Guwahati.

The MD was traveling on business and texted me from the airport to arrange for a prayer meeting and communicate this sad news to other members of Su-Kam family.  He was very upset over this incident and I could understand that he really relate and empathize with the pain and trauma that their parents went through.

Su-kam has taught me that it pays to be different. The company has motivated and given me courage to put forward my ideas without the fear that they will be rejected. Thus, a great leader and a great organization like Su-kam have been instrumental in my growth as a professional and an individual.

Vinay Mohan, Proprietor, Balaji Service Station NH1, Sonipat, NCR

Constant and frequent power cuts have made it mandatory for businessmen like me to have inverters and other power back up systems to ensure that our work and businesses don’t suffer. I too got a 5-kva high capacity inverter from Su-kam to see that there are no disruptions to my work and business.

However, once there was a power cut at around 8:00 pm and the inverter wasn’t working properly. There was a jerking movement. Therefore, I called up the customer service department and informed about the problem. Night had already fallen so I was under the assumption that the company would send someone the next day. However, to my wonder the engineer from the company turned up in a very short time and brought a spare service battery along. The engineer then got rid of the jerking that was actually due to some fault in the battery.

Thanks to Su-kam’s prompt service, I could keep the petrol pump running that night despite the power cut. If the company had not provided prompt assistance then the petrol pump would have had to be shut down due to darkness.

I have always received great service from the company. There products are also top-rate which is why apart from an inverter I also use a Su-kam’s SMF battery. Let me tell you another instance that proves the company’s dedication towards their customers. I bought battery equalizers for my SMF battery but wasn’t too happy with them. Therefore, I called up the company and asked them to replace the battery equalizer. The company got the equalizer replaced with a new one within a few days.

I have always had a great experience in my dealings with Su-kam and have never faced any hassles. Its after sale service, value for money and its world class technology gives the company an edge over its counterparts.

Nischal Arora, Head-Supply Chain, Biomerieux, He has been using a Su-kam inverter for the last 4-5 years

Power cuts have become the bane of our existence. They wreak havoc in our day-to-day life As a palliative to this problem, I opted for an inverter however was not too satisfied with its performance. Then I brought another inverter, this time from Su-kam.

I must admit that the Su-kam inverter has solved my problems due to these blasted power cuts. It is a great product and offers great returns for my hard-earned money. Moreover, I am also very pleased with the company’s after sales service. Once it so happened that some strange noise was coming out of my inverter. Therefore, I called up the customer service department at Su-kam and you would not believe, a customer service executive from the company turned up at my doorstep mere two hours later and solved the problem immediately.

Now, I have been using the Su-kam inverter for the last 4-5 years and have never faced any hassles. On the other hand, it has proved invaluable on several occasions. I will narrate one such instance. It was another of those days when electricity went off early in the morning and the power was not restored even after several hours. I was working from home with the help of my inverter and had to attend an urgent con-call from France. I was able to handle it without any problems due to my Su-kam inverter that continued working despite there being no power supply for almost the whole day. Su-kam was the hero that day.

I would certainly recommend Su-kam to my fellow beings if they are thinking of buying an inverter, UPS or battery. Its quality products, great after sale services and customer friendly attitude certainly makes Su-kam a great choice. In fact looking at its quality and performance it is very easy to mistake Su-kam for a Japanese brand, despite being an Indian brand.

Innovation! The magic mantra for success. Porus Munshi’s new book talks about eleven entities who have used this mantra to sail ahead of their contemporaries. Titled “Making Breakthrough Innovations Happen”, this book brings eleven instances where people battled heavy odds and managed to turn their industry around with their ingenuity and innovations.

Su-kam, the company which almost singe-handedly changed the face of the Indian power back-up, is one of the eleven innovators chronicled in this book. It is a truly deserving accolade for Su-kam because it managed to create not only a niche into an existing industry but ended up creating a whole new industry in India by sensing and successfully utilizing a latent need in the power backup sector of the country.

Some other innovators mentioned in this book include Titan that came up with the slimmest water-resistant watch in the world; Shantha Biotech which managed to find out a low-cost Hepatitis-B vaccine thereby bring in a new era of  biotechnology in India. It also includes public service innovators like the Surat City and the Trichy Police. It is an honour to Su-kam that it finds mention among such an extensive and illustrious bunch.

Such instances of appreciation are sure to motivate and induce Su-kam to conquer further heights of success and glory.

Pramod Khandelwal, Sr. Manager – Corporate HR, An integral part of the Su-kam family since last two years, he handles corporate HR at the company

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

– Confucius

I had often heard this maxim but only realized how true it was only after I joined Su-kam. Su-kam is a company that has also been an innovator and the company offers its employees innumerable opportunities and challenges to excel and grow.

I am a person who has witnessed and experienced this firsthand. I have always been given the freedom to work innovatively. Moreover, the timely recognition and appreciation which I get from my superiors motivate me to think more creatively and deeply. The kind of faith and trust I get from the Sr Management also drive me to perform better and put in my best efforts.

There is no doubt that Su-kam is a great place to work but what makes it truly exceptional is the fact that it has a leader who is not only brilliant and innovative but a genuine human being as well. He cares about each and every employee in his organization.

I can provide a real life instance to prove this fact. This is an incident that happened quite recently. Su-kam had organized an important workshop on “Evolving HR vision and Mission” for its employees on 9th and 10th January 2010 at Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh. The preparations for this trip were on in full swing and all the arrangements such as faculty, venue and tickets were already in place for all the 21 members of the HR team in Su-kam.

The entire team including me was ready to go and then suddenly at the  eleventh hour an unforeseen but urgent dilemma befell me. I approached the company and requested to be exempted from the trip. It was a very important workshop and all the preparations were completed but despite that I was allowed to back out of the trip. Moreover the entire trip was postponed as well. Thus, the company does not count cost or inconvenience when it come to its employees and this is the reason that makes Su-kam special and different from other organizations.

Today, households across India have some very expensive and sophisticated electronic equipment. New generation refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, DVDs, music systems, televisions, plasma TVs, ACs et al. You name it and we have it all. Unfortunately, during power cuts, none of these appliances can be used. Ordinary inverters are also of not much help since they are not capable of supplying the right power for the sophisticated devices.

After being thoroughly fed up with power cuts and its subsequent inconveniences, I set out on a quest to find out for a permanent solution for this misery. That’s when I came across Su-Kam’s Sine-i; a really advanced inverter. Based on the world’s most advanced DSP Sine Wave Technology, it provides all connected appliances with a steady source of 100% Pure Sine Wave Power. This power is actually purer than the power supplied from the mains. Moreover, the appliances don’t make any kind of irritating, humming sound either unlike many other inverters available in the market.

Su-Kam Sine-i Inverter gives us the great advantage of being able to use all our expensive and sensitive electronic equipment at all times. This inverter from Su-kam has put to rest all my problems caused by power cuts. I felt that I should share my experience with all of you so that you can also benefit from this great product.

Power cuts have turned our life upside down. Especially for people like me, who work from home. I have to be online on my computer for a major part of the day and power cuts had a heavy toll on my work. Not to mention every time the electricity went off, my computer got switched off, and I had to reboot it every time. Even with an inverter at home, my problem didn’t get solved and I was at my wits end.

Then one day providence intervened. Once I was talking to a friend of mine who works from home as well. He recommended me to buy a Su-Kam’s Home UPS. I paid heed to his advice and my life was changed for the better.

My inverter provides power back-up to the computer as it has a seamless transmission. Also I don’t need an additional inverter as Su-Kam’s Home UPS serves both the purposes – an inverter and a UPS.

My life has become so much easier now. My PC doesn’t shut down! I keep working through power cuts, unaffected. And what more, it is cost saving as well. One system (Home UPS) in lieu of two systems (inverter and UPS).

It saves space; can fit in any corner of my room and is attractive. It also gives longer backup for my computer as compared to other ordinary UPS. And what more, I can run other appliances like AC along with my computer at the same time! What more could I ask for?! Its intelligent, user friendly, has a cold start and is solar compatible too!

Imagine it’s a hot summer day outside and you are in your office. Your entire office is preparing for a client meeting which is in the afternoon. Life in office goes on as usual in the comfort of air conditioning systems. Everyone is working on their respective systems. Suddenly the power goes off and everything comes to a standstill.

There is chaos and everyone is hoping that the power comes back fast. All are running short of time and the client will arrive anytime. You are not ready yet; many have not even saved their work they have been doing in the last few hours. You can do nothing but just to wait for the power to be restored.

Hope you haven’t come across such a situation yet. And if you have, well, then you don’t even need to imagine, you know it first hand. There is a simple solution to this problem –high powered inverters from Su-kam, especially designed for offices. Heavy duty appliances can be run by a Su-Kam Inverter. Power Quality Monitors

Today most of us have appliances like TV, DVD, home theatres, PC, printer etc at our home. Power cuts and voltage fluctuations can really harm these appliances. But I ensured that my appliances don’t get affected adversely due to these regular yet unpredictable power cuts. I got a Su-Kam’s Power Quality Monitor (PQM), and lo and behold, my troubles with power cuts are a thing of the past.

PQM is a great utility tool for pre-installation site survey. Before installing any power back-up equipment, PQM can help to measure the power quality of the incoming power so that the appropriate power back-up equipment can be decided. It is also possible to monitor the voltage, frequency and THD with a PQM. The waveform of the power source is plotted as an actual shape so that we are aware of the purity of waveform. Thus it is easy to compare the quality of back up source by just comparing it with the ideal waveform stored and can also be compared against the power back up equipment.

This unit is very useful to see the quality of waveform generated by the generator, inverter or UPS & to check if this is pure sine wave or not. The effect of switching on an AC or a PC on the power line can also be clearly seen.  Moreover, PQM is not just meant for monitoring home appliances and equipments; it can also monitor the equipments at hospitals, ATMs, industrial and other heavy machineries.

See, isn’t PQM a great device? I have found peace of mind knowing that my appliances are safe. Why don’t you follow my example and ensure that your appliances get protected as well.

Su-kam has once again made it to the list of “Superbrands’. The consumer Superbrands logo is a much coveted marketing award in India. Known as the “Oscars of Branding” it seeks to recognize and felicitate the country’s high profile consumer brands.

The Superbrands Council which decides on the winners comprises a formidable jury including individuals with invaluable experience and expertise in business as well as knowledge of brands.

The fact that Su-kam has featured into this prestigious list, which includes only the top 10 per cent of the brands in India, is a measure of the company’s consistent growth and progress. It was awarded the “Superbrand” status in the year 2008-09 as well.

Thus, Su-kam has become the only company in the power back-up industry to win this prestigious award, and that too twice consecutively. Su-kam was awarded in the “Business Superbrand” category last year while this year it is featured in the “Consumer Superbrand” section.

Mr Kunwer Sachdev, the dynamic MD of Su-kam received the “Consumer Superbrand” award this year from the hands of Mr Anmol Dhar, MD Superbrands India and Superbrands Council in a glittering ceremony held on 17th December 2009.

Su-kam, a truly customer centric organization is on a continuous growth path as evidenced by its quality products and growing clientele. The recognition of its efforts and accomplishments through this award would serve as a motivation to this company in its path to progress.
