20 Hours of Daily Powercuts Made this Hospital in Jammu Install Solar!

This story is narrated by Su-Kam’s service engineer who recently assisted in carrying out the installation of a solar system in a hospital in Jammu. Read to find out what he told us:

Life Before Solar in This Hospital!

Sub District Hospital is located in Anantnag city in Jammu and Kashmir. The area that this hospital is located experiences long power cuts. Power was only available for 4 to 5 hours every day. The hospital required its basic light load to run for 24 hours so that it doesn’t hamper in the day to day functioning of the hospital.

For this purpose, they had to resort to using diesel generators that costed them heavily. The management of the hospital then decided to go in for a long term investment in solar power and get rid of these high expenditures. They also wanted to lend a hand and contribute to a cleaner environment.

Jammu and Kashmir, receives ample amount of sunlight. With an average of 10 hours of day light in this month of December, a solar installation would bring all the right results.

This is how the installation of Brainy Eco looks. It is an intelligent off grid solar system that run both on solar and mains. In this hospital, for example, if they want to use mains power whenever it is available, they can select grid priority so that whenever mains is available, the load will run on mains and battery will charge by mains. On all other times, it will give priority to solar. Same way one can select solar priority to maximum use solar power at all times.

How Brainy Eco Made All the Difference?

For this installation, they called up our expert and authorized distributor Mr. Nisar, located in Jammu. After a detailed inspection of the hospital he came up with the following specification:

Technical Specifications

  1. Su-Kam Brainy Eco 1100 – 4 in number
  2. Su-Kam’s solar panels – 100W – 3 panels (With each Brainy Eco)
  3. Su-Kam’s Solar Batteries – 150AH(With each Brainy Eco)

Load Running and Units Generated

Each system generates approximately 2 to 3 units of electricity everyday depending upon the weather conditions and has been installed at different departments in the hospital which is designed to run 10 tubelights each.

The installation was a success and the hospital management is very pleased with the final outcome.

Mr. Zuber who is a senior engineer of that hospital says, ‘We approached Su-Kam after a very satisfactory feedback from some of our connections outside the hospital. After a detailed discussion with Mr. Nisar we have installed 4 brainy eco’s in the hospital and they are working absolutely fine.’

This hospital had massive power cuts and they had resorted to using diesel generators to power their load. Power was only available for 4 hours every day. The hospital spent a huge amount of money on electricity bills every month. Now their load is running on free solar power. We are glad to be of assistance to the medicine industry and hope to further help them in any way.
