Remember we told you about how our authorized dealer Mr. Ravindra brought light to this church that received no electricity by installing a solar powered system? Here’s an update! He solarised yet another church! A noble act again! Read the full story here:
Why solar over a diesel generator?
To refresh your memory let me give you a brief history — Mr. Peter is the owner of the trust fund that runs many churches under the name of ‘Blessings Youth Mission’ in the state of Maharashtra. The area where this church is located does not have any power lines and receives no electricity.
Peter resorted to using a diesel generator that costed him thousands of rupees every month. Due to this pressing problem, Peter decided it was time for a long term solution. He was then approached by Mr. Ravindra who advised him to install a solar power system in his church. Peter then installed a solar inverter advised by Mr. Ravindra and he loved it! Solar power reduced his monthly electricity bills and had the lights running at all times. He then went ahead and installed a solar plant in another church.
Maharashtra receives ample amount of sunlight. With an average of 11 hours and 30 mins of daylight, a solar installation would be perfect for this area.
Ravindra with his team of technical engineers then visited the church and installed the following—
Load running and units generated
The system generates approximately 10 units of electricity every day depending on the weather conditions and is designed to run the load of the church that includes 2 fans, 25 LED lights and one sound amplifier.
Harmful exhaust from diesel generators and its adverse effects
In the past couple of months, air pollution in India is at an all-time high. The worst factor in air pollution is soot, which is generated from diesel generators/vehicles.
NOx (NOx is a generic term for the mono-nitrogen oxides NO and NO2 (nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide) are produced from the reaction of nitrogen, oxygen. NOx reacts with moisture in the air to form nitric acid which is inhaled deep into the lungs. The toxic soot is the number one cause of increasing risk of cancer worldwide. It is known that a standby diesel generator produces around 11 to 13 Kgs of Nitrogen Oxides per Mega Hour of power generated. And this is just one generator we are talking about, as compared to zero pollution generated from a solar system.
The installation was a success and Mr. Peter is pleased with the working of Brainy Eco in his second church.
He says and we quote, ‘I was very happy with the previous solar installation. It was exciting to install another solar plant in my church. I want to thank su-kam to help me bring some power backup here. The inverter is working absolutely fine.’
We wish Peter all the best and hope to see more of such kind-hearted customers. It was a privilege to associate with such inspirational citizens of India.
