I Faced 12 Hours of Powercuts Daily Until I Installed Solar in My House in Uttar Pradesh

Here is a story about an old man who lives in Uttar Pradesh in a small village who has been struggling with chronic power shortage. His sons who live outside the country contacted our authorized distributor to get a solar powered system installed in their father’s home so that their father can live comfortably in his home. This incredibly beautiful story is worth reading:

A Solar System Improves the Life of This Old Man

Mr. Kailash stays in Menauli Village, district Gazipur in Uttar Pradesh. Village Menauli is a chronic power shortage inflicted zone. In Uttar Pradesh villages, the residents are expected to pay a fixed amount of money, since there is very little electricity to keep track of. Mr. Kailash has two sons, both of whom are settled outside the country. They wanted their father to join them but Kailash was very attached to his village and being elderly he preferred to stay in his home town where he felt he belonged.


But the two sons seeing their father struggling with poor electricity conditions in that area decided to get a solar powered system installed in his home that would provide power in that home all day and every day.

And so they decided to call up Mr. Ashvini, owner of Anya Green energy solutions, Su-kam’s authorized distributor from Uttar Pradesh. Ashvini promised the two sons he would install the perfect solar powered system in their father’s house that will run all of his home load on solar.


Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh receives approximately 10 hours and 34 minutes of day light every day in this month of December. And investing in solar power in this area would definitely be a success.

And so Mr. Ashvini decided to install a solar power conditioning unit in Kailash’s house. A solar power conditioning unit is different from a regular inverter in the way that it has an inbuilt solar charge controller. That is usually externally installed in case of an existing inverter at home.

After a detailed site inspection here is what he installed:

Units Generated and Load Running

This solar system is expected to generate approximately 8 to 10 units of electricity on a daily basis depending on weather conditions. The installation was a success.

The system is now running on solar comfortably. Solar power from this installation is used to run 10 lights, 3 Fans, 1 TV and 1 Mixer grinder.

After the installation we had a candid conversation with Mr. Ashvini who says, ‘We have installed Su-Kam solar PCU in the customer’s home according to their load requirements. Mr. Kailash lives in Menauli village with 2 house helpers. His sons live abroad and they contacted us as they wanted their father never to face the problem of power cuts. Solar PCU will run the entire load of the house on solar power.’


After the installation we also spoke to Mr. Kailash. We asked him if he is satisfied with the use of solar power and was he happy to install a solar system in his home and he says, ‘In my village if we are lucky we get 5 to 7 hours of electricity in the whole day. Sometimes days go by where we have no electricity. I think this solar system will be able to help me have electricity in my home all day.’
