How He Chose Solar!

Mr. Akhilesh owns a gas agency in Hardoi District, Uttar Pradesh. District Hardoi is occupied with a population of 112,486 people who are struggling with the issue of lack of proper electricity lines in that area. Because of frequent power cuts, people have resorted to using diesel generators which generate additional costs.


Mr. Akhilesh faced the same problem. Mandi district approximately receives 13 hours of day light every day. Installing a solar system in this area was a perfect solution and so Mr. Ranjan (Su-Kam’s authorized distributor from R.K. Batteries in Uttar Pradesh) discussed the positive prospects of installing solar in his petrol pump and how it will greatly help in reducing his bills.

Akhilesh wanted to install the best solar system in his gas agency. So he visited the solar center owned by Mr. Ranjan to understand the pros and cons of installing solar. Ranjan and Akhilesh finally decided for the following system to be installed in his gas agency.

How It Works

During the day, the solar panels would product DC electricity from the sun rays falling on the panels. This uncontrolled DC power is passed through the Solar PCU that would convert this DC power received from the panels into controlled power best suited for charging the battery bank and also run the load simultaneously by converting DC to AC.

To run the load through the power stored in the batteries, the PCU would convert this DC power to AC power, since the appliances run on AC power. As the load runs, the batteries get discharged. And the cycle repeats.


Units Generated and Load Running

‘The 4KW solar panel generates approximately 25 to 30 units per day depending on the weather conditions. The system easily runs my electrical load such as 1.5-ton AC, 6 Fans, 15 LED (15W each) and Mics (500W),’ says Akhilesh.

Mr. Ranjan says, ‘We had a pleasant experience with Akhilesh. He came to our center and asked for installing a solar powered system in his gas agency. The customer was very interested in how the system works. We sat down together and discussed what all needs to be installed. According to his requirements we have installed 6.25 KVA solar PCU. He is very satisfied since he can now comfortable run his load on solar.’
