‘No’ to Diesel Generators! This Company Runs 50 Computers on 10KVA Online UPS

Fusion outsourcing is a BPO company located in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The company required its computers to run 24/7 since it was a customer service company. Fusion outsourcing had 4 of Su-kam’s commercial UPS installed in their company that took care of the lighting load.

They now wanted to install a system that insured full time back up for their computers and other sensitive machinery. Mr. Avinash, manager in Fusion outsourcing, then decided to contact Su-Kam’s authorized distributor located in Udaipur asking advice for the perfect inverter for his company.

Ms. Gazala then advised him to install Su-Kam’s online UPS.

Why Did They Choose an Online UPS?

The reason why an online UPS is called ‘online’ is because the batteries are ‘always’ connected to UPS, so power transfers are not required. As in, no power transfer from mains mode to battery mode or battery mode to mains mode. So we can say there is zero change over time. But how is that useful? The online UPS is perfect for equipment’s that are highly sensitive to power switches. They shut down and cannot resume normal functioning in the situation of power transfers from mains to battery mode and vice versa.

A generator will lose its efficiency with time. They need periodic maintenance from authorized agencies which costs a lot more. You don’t really have to worry about that with an online UPS. Just install and forget.  Solar power can actually be utilized through an online UPS to charge batteries by using an external solar charge controller. That can help further reduce the cost of electricity. Solar power on the other hand cannot be utilized through a generator. Generators can run only on fuels such as petrol, diesel, kerosene etc.

Then our authorized distributor from Udaipur advised them to install Su-kam’s online UPS in their shop. After understanding their load requirements, he installed the following:

Technical Specifications:

  1. Su-Kam’s Online UPS– 10KVA/180V
  2. Su-Kam Tubular Batteries– 15 in number

Load Running and Units Generated

This system will be turned into a solar system that will further help in reducing the bills and giving 24 hours back up.  The installation was a success and this system runs about 50 Personal computers in the company.

Our engineer Mr. Kailash says, ‘We have installed 10KVA solar online UPS here. This online UPS will provide enough back up for the computers to run all the time during the day. We will be installing the solar panels after we receive the requirement for it from the company.’

It is interesting to know how people in India are opting for technology rather than simple cheap inverters. We wish the Fusion Outsourcing Business all the best for their future with solar.
