Su-Kam has commissioned the first–of- its- kind solar power plant at Shivalik Public School in Patiala, Punjab. This installation is the first solar grid tied-up project undertaken by the company in Patiala.
The solar power plant installed by Su-Kam at Shivalik Public school has a highly structured setting of solar panels at the school’s rooftop. The solar power plant has 6 string inverters of 8.5 kWp each providing a total capacity of 50 kWp. The newly installed solar power system will generate approximately 60,000 to 72,000 units of electricity per annum and is equipped to handle the complete power load of the school during working hours. This in turn will reduce the school’s dependence on grid power supply to nearly zero.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ashish Sethi, General Manager-Solar Business, Su-Kam Power Systems Limited said, “We are constantly evaluating solar applications in order to reach a wider customer base.This complete solar solution is an example of how we can utilize the power of innovative renewable energy to provide uninterrupted power solutions. As a part of its commitment to make alternative power solution a viable option, Su-Kam will also maintain the newly installed solar power plant for the next five years. A remote monitoring system has also been installed to monitor the system performance regularly. Apart from no recurring cost, the added advantage is that the inverter provided for the project is waterproof and designed for outdoor applications thereby requiring no extra space to place it internally.
The Su-Kam team worked during the night time and holidays to install the project so as to cause minimal disturbance to the students during school hours. The company installed this project in a record time of 20 days!
