Su-Kam has embarked on a mission to provide smart and easy solar powered backup solutions for hospitals across Andhra Pradesh. The company has installed a 10 KW (A 6KW and another 4KW) rooftop Solar Powered System in Lalitha Devi nursing home in Parakal, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh. It will serve as a critical life-support system for the hospital, providing clean and uninterrupted power back-up using solar energy.
The installation which has been done on the rooftop of the hospital is providing 8 hours of power back up to the hospital. The solar installation was earlier connected to provide power to 2 Air Conditioners of 1.5 ton each in addition to 30 fans and 30 tube lights in the hospital. The nursing home has varied the utility by powering up 80 tube lights and 80 fans, removing back up for ACs.
Before the installation of this solar plant, the hospital authorities were paying Rs. 60000/- for diesel and generator sets as the hospital is located in a rural area. However, after installing the solar plant, they have entirely done away with the DG sets to power the hospital for 8 hours of back up, each day. The hospital has not only reduced the costs of expensive diesel used in Gen sets but also have availed the tax benefits for using solar. The hospital has also received easy loan for the solar installation from the local bank.
The hospital, impressed by the utility that this solar system has offered, has decided to add another 5 KW system on the rooftop.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ashish Sethi, General Manager-Solar Business, Su-Kam Power Systems Limited said, “We are constantly evaluating solar applications in order to reach a wider customer base. This complete solar solution is an example of how we can utilize the power of innovative renewable energy to provide uninterrupted power solutions. Solar power has opened new vistas and addresses the long term power needs of schools, colleges, hospitals and other institutions. In addition to this, Su-Kam is also committed to providing unique Solar solutions to households across Andhra Pradesh”.
