Having established its credentials in the market Su-Kam an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified company, considered vertical integration as a means of natural growth. In 2003 it established a state-of-the-art facility at Katha in Himachal Pradesh to manufacture Sealed Maintenance Free (SMF) Batteries. The sprawling factory operating in conformity with stringent environmental norms currently employs 500 people.
In a short span of ten years, Su-Kam has managed to transform itself from a manufacturer of Inverters to a complete solution provider for the power electronics industry. With a huge investment of around Rs.100 crore Su-Kam’s Katha plant in Himachal Pradesh is the first fully automated manufacturing facility for SMF batteries in the whole country. This unit is well equipped with strong integrated production system with wide range of rugged high speed automatic machines to achieve high level consistency and accuracy. The manufacturing plant in Katha has the capacity to manufacture 1000 batteries in a day.
It is a VRLA (valve regulated lead-acid) Battery Manufacturing Plant. The range of batteries that are manufactured here are 12V – 44Ah, 70Ah, 100Ah, 135Ah, 165Ah & 200Ah. The whole project from the inception stage to the final commissioning has been done by in-house team without any external consultancy. This would perhaps, be the only such big project handled by in-house team only. At this plant also vibrant R&D history of Su-Kam has been repeated which is reflected in Su-Kam having already filed 1 patent & 3 design registrations from this plant.
Previously have you ever heard of a fully automated manufacturing unit for SMF Batteries in India? The answer itself speaks for the milestone that Su-Kam achieved in such a short span of time. So you may migrate to the usage of SMF Batteries from the conventional lead acid batteries. With a huge plant and infrastructure Su-Kam has made it possible: Price difference is negligible compared to the conventional lead acid batteries. Moreover you do not breathe any more acid fumes and live in a healthy and safe environment. Now do you have any better option than this?
