This Solar-Powered Dairy Farm Runs Heavy Machines and 20 Lights on Solar. Here’s How

This is a story about a man who chose solar power to run his appliances in his newly constructed farmhouse and is saving thousands over a month. Read to find out more:

Why Did He Choose Solar Power?

Mr. Ravinder lives in Village Bilaspur, Punjab. Ravinder and his family own a dairy farmhouse in Punjab that carries out daily milk purifying and supplying it. The area in which this farmhouse is located, experiences frequent power cuts—approximately 6 hours every day. It was therefore, important to have a battery backup system here.

Ravinder did not want to opt for the usual inverter battery system as he had a tough time maintaining his previous inverter battery system. He was a well-informed customer who decided that it was time for him to try out solar power.

And that is how Ravinder decided he must opt for solar himself. Bilaspur village located in the Indian state Punjab, receives ample amount of sunlight. With an average of 13 hour and 30 minutes of day light, a solar installation would be perfect for this area.

For this installation, Ravinder approached his nearby dealer ‘Punjab Ajeet electricals’. Ajeet then advised Ravinder to install Su-Kam’s solar power system. He then called up his nearby Su-Kam distributor, Mr. Rajeev Garg. Rajeev has carried out a number of solar installations in Punjab.

And after a detailed site inspection, Rajeev came up with the following system to be installed in Jasbir’s home:

Technical Specifications

  1. Su-Kam Solar PCU – 6.25KVA/96V
  2. Su-Kam’s Solar Panels 4KW
  3. Su-Kam’s Batteries 150AH – 8 in number

Load Running and Units Generated

The system generates approximately 20 to 22 units of electricity every day depending upon the weather conditions and is running full load of the farmhouse that includes – submersible pump 5HP, milk purifying machine 1hp, grass cutting machine 1hp, 20 lights and 3 fans.

The installation was a success. Mr. Ravinder is very happy with the installation. We had a candid conversation with Mr. Rajeev after the installation and he told us, ‘I had advised Mr. Ravinder to install a solar system in his home according to his load requirements. His electricity bill will be reduced to a large extent since this inverter will run all of his farmhouse load. We have installed this system on 23rd November 2016 and it has been working fine since then.’

We wish Ravinder all the best and best of luck for the coming days. Follow Su-Kam’s Blogs to know more about solar installations. We will keep you updated about all interesting solar stories.
